Kimbolton take First Prize in Madeira
Kimbolton Fireworks were please to be
awarded the First Prize at the 4th Madeira Atlantic Festival
-International Firework Competition in June 2005, beating
previous winners from Spain and Japan. Fired from the harbour
area, Kimbolton’s display was digitally synchornised
to music and visible from the beautiful surrounding panoramic
mountain side of Funchal Bay.
This is now our 2nd consecutive First
Prize at the Madeira competition as we also won in 2004 !!

Kimbolton fire in Dublin
Kimbolton Fireworks were pleased to fire the firework display
in the heart of Dublin, as part of the 2004 and 2005 St Patrick's
Day Festivals. Kimbolton's display fired from 37 separate
locations along the River Liffey entertaining huge crowds
and a live television audience.
This display is reputedly the largest annual firework display
in Europe and we are very excited to be involved.

Kimbolton
win in Barcelona
Kimbolton Fireworks took part in the 2004, Barcelona International
Firework Competition and were extremely pleased to be awarded
both the Jury and Public Prizes, apparently a unique achievement.
Fired from a breakwater on the heart
of the city's waterfront, the setting provided an excellent
vantage point for the massed spectators watching from the
beaches.
Kimbolton made use of their digital firing
system, coordinating the fireworks to a varied music soundtrack.
Kimbolton
win Gold at Cannes
As the winners of the 2001 Cannes
International Firework competition, Kimbolton Fireworks were
invited to return in 2002 and compete for the title "Best
of the Best." Every six years, the winners from each
of the previous years return to compete for the Gold Prize.
Kimbolton managed to beat stiff competition from France, Spain
and China to take the Gold Prize.
The display is technically challenging, fired from 3 separate
locations moored in Cannes Bay and choreographed to music.
Our new digital firing system was
used to provide tight coordination with the music and launch
a huge quantity of firework effects, many of which were made
in the Kimbolton factory in the UK.
Fireworks Legislation
Recent months have seen the passing
of the Firework Bill. Whilst this will not greatly impact
on Kimbolton Fireworks, it will affect the UK firework sector
in a number of ways:
- Retail fireworks available through
shops will be sold to the public on a two tier licencing
scheme.
- The upper tier enables retailers to
sell fireworks all year round.
- There will be a restriction on the
noise level of retail fireworks - to be set at 120 decibels.
- There will be a curfew on firework
activity after 11pm (There may be allowances for special
and religious occasions e.g. New Year).
- Legislation to support the voluntary
air bomb ban.
Anti-Social Behaviour Act - Recent Changes
Essentially, no person under the age of 18 may be in possession
of fireworks in a public place and no unauthorised person
may be in possession of Category 4 fireworks (restricted to
professional use).
Kimbolton Fireworks welcomes this.
